Eldon Parish Council has been considering how it will meet its statutory requirements and conduct business to ensure that it is able to continue to operate safely and effectively during the Coronavirus pandemic. The Council considered a report at an Extraordinary Meeting of the Council on 23rd March 2020 to consider how it can address some of the considerable challenges which face us all and particularly those who are vulnerable. This includes cancelling some meetings and planned events. The Clerk has been given additional delegated powers, in consultation with the Chairman and/or Vice-Chairman to ensure that the business of the Parish Council can be conducted during the crisis.
New Regulations, just published, allow for Parish Council meetings in the coming months to be held remotely, if necessary, and the Parish Council will publish these on this website, together with details of public and press access, if such meetings are held.
Please follow the Government guidance which is continuously being updated and take the necessary precautions to ensure that we are all safe.
